As the leader for our Editorial Practice Team, she enjoys using her research skills and succinct storytelling in a host of publications, websites, in video, through speeches and just about anywhere else they’ll let her write.
A newspaperwoman for more than 15 years, Donna served as a writer, features editor, desk editor, assistant managing editor, and marketing director. She was the Employee of the Year for the Northern Virginia Daily, and has won dozens of awards from the Virginia Press Association, among others.
Donna has two degrees from James Madison University – a bachelor’s in communication and a master’s in public administration concentrating on nonprofits. She worked in the School of Media Arts and Design at JMU for three years, where she advised the student newspaper and taught feature magazine and newspaper production classes. She’s also written for national and regional publications.
Donna lives in Forest, Virginia with her professor husband, two children, dog and cat. She spends most weekends at lacrosse games, teaching preschoolers at her church and reading good books.
